Xenon++ Mod is a simple mod that adds larger xenon tanks so you don’t have to attach scores of tiny xenon tanks to your refuelling vessels. Currently, the mod simply uses the stock xenon tank model, just scaled up.
The amount of xenon each tank holds is proportional to its volume: the medium xenon tank holds 8 times as much as the small xenon tank, and the large xenon tank holds 8 times as much as the medium xenon tank.
The following features are planned, but are not yet implemented:
- Xenon tanks for planes (Mk2 and Mk3)
- Possibly a huge xenon tank for the largest rocket sizes
- Texture reskins
- Optional scaled-up ion engines
- New R&D research nodes for the largest xenon tanks (assuming the modding API supports it); this will be either a fork or an optional feature to avoid conflicts with any other mods that alter the tech tree
If you want to make your own similar mod that simply scales an existing part to a new size, all you need to do is copy the model files over, and edit (or add if it doesn’t exitst) the line setting “rescaleFactor” to be the new size you want. Do not change the “scale” value or any of the “node_stack_*” values. Then just simply set the properties of the engine or tank to your desired value.
